Education and Training

Joanne Chen is a licensed occupational therapist driven by a deep passion for empowering individuals through therapeutic and educational interventions. With a focus on enhancing patient health and success in all aspects of daily life, Chen specializes in promoting overall functioning, activities of daily living (ADL), and instrumental activities of daily living (IADL). Her diverse professional background includes extensive experience in outpatient hand-based therapy, where she has successfully treated a wide range of conditions, from fractures and arthritis to nerve injuries such as carpal tunnel syndrome and cubital tunnel syndrome. Additionally, she has made significant contributions in school-based pediatric therapy, collaborating with children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other developmental disabilities to improve their quality of life.

Joanne Chen earned her Bachelor of Science in Health Science with a concentration in Human Disabilities and Development from Stony Brook University in 2020. Building upon this foundation, she pursued advanced studies in occupational therapy, culminating in the completion of her Master of Science degree in Occupational Therapy in 2023.
